Killing Floor is a best-selling game on Steam shortly after it was released (May 19, 2009) On February 14, 2012., Tripwire Interactive announced that Killing Floor has sold over one million copies on the PC.
Killing Floor has won numerous awards, including Overall Best PC Game of 2009 at Voodoo Extreme Reader Choice Awards. It also won two other categories Voodoo Extreme Readers Choice Awards this:. Best PC Shooter 2009 and Best PC Game Expansion or DLC in 2009
Eurogamer commented that "although not perfect", it is "smart and relatively inexpensive". GameSpot commented that the game graphics compared poorly with contemporary shooters, and the voice acting is bad, but it is considered that the sound effects are very good, and that despite his mistakes, "you can not help but enjoy it." Some reviewers also considered that the lack of a real plot or purpose other than the player kills the specimen, the small number of existing maps, and the repetitiveness of the gameplay reduces its replay value. Killing Floor has a Metacritic score of 72/100 from the critics.
